Terms of Service

1. The service

AbleScan ("the service") is an automated tool that tests web pages against the WCAG accessibility standard and reports the results. The service is operated at ablescan.app and is free to scan; unlocking full reports (the fix list and PDF) is paid. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

2. Test results are information, not advice

Scan results are automated test output provided for informational purposes. They are not legal advice, and they are not a guarantee of compliance with the European Accessibility Act or any other law. Automated testing detects only a portion of accessibility barriers; a complete assessment requires a professional audit. You are responsible for how you use the results.

3. Beta service, provided "as is"

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Scan reports may be removed after a period of time.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to disrupt or overload our infrastructure or the websites being scanned (for example, automated bulk scanning), not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, and not to use the service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AbleScan's total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. For the free plan, that amount is zero. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including fines, lost profits, or loss of data.

6. Payments and refunds

Page scanning is free. Unlocking a report — the full fix list and a downloadable PDF — is paid, using credits bought in advance. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Polar, who issues receipts and handles taxes.

Refunds.Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase — get in touch and we'll process it through Polar. Credits that have already been used to unlock a report are non-refundable, because the report and its PDF are delivered immediately.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
